Frequently Asked Question

FAQ

What water parameters are needed for Neocaridina Shrimp?
In most cities, tap water is suitable for Neocaridina use directly. Optimal water parameters for Neocaridina are: PH 7-7.5, GH 8-10,
KH 4-6 and TDS 250- 300 ppm.
What water parameters are needed for Caridina Shrimp?
For Caridina, we use an active substrate to stabilize water parameters.
RO water from a reverse osmosis filter is recommended. You should also use the mineral Gh +
Recommended water parameters are:
PH 5.5-6.5, GH 4-6, Kh 0-1,
TDS 120 – 140 ppm.
What plants can be safely together with shrimp in an aquarium.
We can use all plants for shrimp, after making sure that they are not soaked in heavy metals and copper.
Unfortunately, most aquarium shops offer and sell plants that are very heavily soaked in chemicals. The plants retain these chemicals for up to 3 months.
This is not harmful to fish, but it kills shrimp. Therefore, it is very dangerous.
How long will I wait for my order?
We offer two types of shipping.
1/ tracked 24 by Royal Mail, 1-2 working days
2/ Special delivery guaranteed next day before 1pm
The choice is up to the customer.
What to do after receiving a package with shrimp?
We open the package and visually check if everything is in order. If there is anything disturbing or strange, please take a photo.
Then please open the bags and pour the entire contents into a bowl/container.
Then, using the drip method (for about 2 hours), we add water from the aquarium so that the shrimp can slowly acclimatize.
It often happens that after the trip, the shrimp are motionless, because they are stressed after the trip. Usually, a few minutes after taking them out of the bag and putting them into the container, the shrimp will start to move.
After the full acclimatization process, please transfer the shrimp to your tank. Using a net. Without pouring in the water from the trip.
Never rely on the water parameters in the bag in which the shrimp arrived. During the trip, these parameters change a lot, due to the excrements excreted by the shrimp.
Why are the shrimp a different color than in the photos in our aquariums?

During the trip / transport, the shrimp are very stressed and lose their true colors. Sometimes they need even a few days to regain their true colors.

With what fish can I keep aquarium shrimp?

We recommend only tiny fish for shrimp. Maximum size 3 cm.

In what tanks should you keep aquarium shrimp?
Shrimps are kept in tropical freshwater tanks, in temperature ranges from 18 to 26 C.
They are not suitable for ponds, outdoors.
What is the best way to feed shrimp?
In addition to the algae that are in the aquarium and shrimps like to eat them,
You can also feed them foods available in aquarium stores, based on plants.
In addition, you can use steamed nettle, Chinese cabbage, spinach leaves. Also banana, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower.
Of course, in small quantities, so as not to allow the tank to get dirty.
